Ribbit Aloha Frog Parents,

Now on Wednesday mornings we have started going to Mr. T.  Also each morning we do a greeting and play a game like statues or alibi.  On Friday, Matt Tavares the author of Mud Ball, Growing Up Pedro, and Becoming Babe Ruth is coming to visit Mill Pond’s fifth graders.
Math has been a lot of fun.  This week in math we have been adding and subtracting decimals.  Also in math, we have started to use a website called Zearn.  So far it has been really fun!
In science we have started taking care of the worms.  We have made a habitat for them with garden soil, leaves, strips of newspaper, waste like banana peels, cracked eggs, dead leaves, dead twigs, apple cores, lettuce scraps, coffee grounds, melon rinds, etc. After we put all the stuff for the habitat we put the worms in. It was really gross!
Social Studies has been a lot of fun too! In social studies we have been learning about the landforms and the bodies of water.  We use this website called Teach TCI. In that website you can find the geography of the United States , American Indians and their land, and more. But, we're learning about the geography of the United States.
In  Activity Period we have been working on  the Map of Our Heart. The Map of Our Heart is like our mandalas but we can put more things we love on the Map of Our Heart.  We also have been working on our classroom blog. Each week 2 people in our class have been working on our classroom blog. This week Brady and Abby have been writing the blog.  We also have found this website called Newsela. This website allows you to read articles about what's going on around the world,  even other stuff too. Sometime we do stuff on our ipad.

Aloha,
Brady and Abby
