Aloha,

This week we had 2 half days. Also it was breast cancer awareness day where everyone wore pink. In science we did a lab about wheat seeds. We planted them in a jar and gave them water. We put the jars in clear and black bags to find out which bags will have the plants grow better. In social studies we are learning about Age of Exploration. We’re using our iPads for Social Studies in TCI.

We have a reading count and we have read 134 books. We are working on metacognitive awareness. Metacognitive awareness is when you ask question about our reading. We also started learning about inferencing. Inferencing is when you use your knowledge to figure out what the text means. In writing we talked about dialogue. We learned that you have to start a new paragraph every time someone else talks and we learn you have to put punctuation after someone talks.
