Aloha!
This week is different from others because on Tuesday and Friday  there is no school, but we still have many things going on!
In ELA we are writing our narratives. Right now we are drafting and story mapping them. We are also going to be choosing one narrative to write and publish!
In math we are learning about estimating products in math operations. We are also starting a little bit of algebra. Today (Wednesday) we learned about the order of operations. It's:
Parentheses
Exponents
Multiplication
Division
Addition
Subtraction
You can remember it by Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally.
In science we have many labs going on. We are doing a wheat lab, a butterfly lab and a worm habitat! In our wheat lab we kept our wheat in a clear bag and a brown bag. After we saw the results we switched the bags for 2 of the wheat plants (the plant in the black bag in the clear bag the plant in the clear bag in the black bag) and what we did with the other 2 bags was just leaving them out without a bag to see how it changed.
In social studies, we are doing a really fun open book test. We are writing to Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand from an explorer's perspective.
We also have a new student of the week… Abby! She got a spinny chair and she also got to make a newsletter (which is basically a poster about herself) that she made for people to learn about her! On top of that we have new share days and we are ready for next week!
       Aloha!!!
Your faithful bloggers,

Aditi and Shoba
