Aloha parents!                                                      January 3, 2017
We are having a short week with no school on Monday but we still have things going on!
Each week one student gets a very comfy chair and the student that got it this week is Shoba! Soon we will be able to see the poster she made about herself !
In math we are dividing multi-digit numbers by multi-digit numbers!
During Social Studies, we are learning about the Columbian Exchange. The Columbian Exchange is how people trade before people can mail. We are doing a webquest which is when you watch videos and learn then later answer questions.
In Science, we are learning about mixtures and solutions. We did a lab about Gravel, Powder(Diatomaceous Earth), and Salt(Sodium Chloride) with our table groups. We need to record the color, Texture, Particle shape, and Particle size of each item.
During Art we were reviewing primary and secondary colors so we made some strips
In ELA, we assigned the second book talk date and the third share day. We published our narratives and most of the people who are finished get to use seesaw and get to write a new writing on their best day ever! There are even a few people who are done! On Tuesday, we learned about Informational text features like maps, title, pictures, headlines, subtitle and so on.We paired up and discuss how those  reading features help us as a reader. Such as the subtitle, it help us know what the main idea of the article is.
In tech we got introduced to seesaw and that is great for those of us who are still working on our narratives in ELA. Seesaw is a app where you can share photos, videos, links, and notes.
